SWMS Pricing — Simple, One-Off, GST Inclusive

There are four price points across the catalogue of more than 1,300 SWMS. Which one applies depends on the complexity of the work the document covers, not on the trade performing it.

• $99 — Standard. Non-HRCW activities with a single low-to-medium hazard. Typical of internal fit-out, signage, basic plumbing, and cleaning work.
• $149 — HRCW. A single high-risk construction work category — most construction trades with one trigger, such as work where a person could fall more than 2 metres.
• $199 — Comprehensive. Multiple HRCW categories, or a single high-consequence category. Multi-trade activities and mid-complexity demolition sit here.
• $249 — Specialist. Licensed and regulated work — Class A and Class B asbestos removal, combined confined-space and atmospheric hazards, tilt-up and precast, and diving work.

$99 is the floor. There is no cheaper tier, no stripped-back version, and no introductory rate that expires. All four figures are inclusive of GST.

The price tracks the depth of the document rather than the popularity of the trade. A SWMS for a single low-risk activity needs a short hazard register, a small set of controls, and a straightforward sequence of work. A SWMS covering several high-risk construction work categories at once needs a substantially longer hazard register, controls layered against each category, interactions between those controls, and more detailed emergency and monitoring arrangements.

Specialist documents carry more again. Licensed asbestos removal, combined confined-space and atmospheric work, tilt-up and precast, and diving work each involve licensing interfaces, health surveillance considerations, and notifiable incident protocols that a general construction SWMS does not. Those documents are longer, take materially more work to author and review, and sit in the $249 tier.

This is why the tier is a property of the activity, not the buyer. A sole trader and a tier-one contractor buying the same excavation SWMS pay the same price.

Every purchase includes the same things regardless of tier.

The editable document. SWMS are supplied as editable DOCX. You add your logo, ABN, and project details, and adapt the hazards and controls to the specific site. Nothing is locked or watermarked.

All eight state and territory variants. One purchase covers every Australian jurisdiction. The NSW variant cites the WHS Act 2011 (NSW) and WHS Regulation 2017 (NSW) and names SafeWork NSW; the Victorian variant cites the OHS Act 2004 (Vic) and OHS Regulations 2017 (Vic) and names WorkSafe Victoria; and so on for each state. You are not buying one state and paying again to cross a border.

Pre-filled hazards and controls. Each document arrives with trade-specific hazards already identified, controls written against the hierarchy of control, and a 5x5 risk matrix showing inherent and residual ratings. The work of identifying what can go wrong on that activity has already been done.

Review by a Certified Industrial Hygienist. Documents are reviewed before they are published, not generated and left unchecked.

Instant download after payment. The file is available immediately on completion of checkout. There is no waiting period, no approval step, and no sales contact.

There is no subscription tier. There is no monthly plan, no annual plan, and no account that lapses. You buy a document, you keep the file, and there is nothing to cancel.

This is a different commercial model to the SWMS platforms in the Australian market, and the comparison is worth making honestly rather than on headline price alone.

A platform subscription is an ongoing service. You are paying for hosted software — a builder interface, worker sign-on tooling, dashboards, and version tracking — and the cost continues for as long as you use it. Several platforms layer per-user or per-project fees on top of the base subscription, so the real annual cost scales with crew size or the number of active jobs rather than staying at the advertised monthly figure. That model suits a contractor who produces SWMS continuously across many jobs and wants the workflow tooling around them.

A template purchase is a document, not a service. There is no builder, no worker sign-on system, and no dashboard — you get a professionally authored file that you edit in Word and manage however your business already manages documents. That model suits a contractor who needs specific compliant documents without taking on recurring software cost.

Neither model is universally better. The point is that they are not the same purchase, and comparing a one-off document price against a monthly subscription price without accounting for that difference will mislead you in either direction. If you produce SWMS continuously and want sign-on tooling, price the platforms. If you need documents, the cost here is $99 to $249 once, per document.

Licence. On purchase you receive a non-exclusive licence to use and adapt the document for your own business. You can edit it, rebrand it with your logo and ABN, issue it to your workers, and submit it to a principal contractor. You may not resell, sub-licence, redistribute, or share the template as a standalone product.

Delivery. Documents are digital and delivered immediately after payment. There is no shipping and no delay.

Refunds. Because the products are digital and delivered immediately, they are generally not refundable once downloaded. If something has gone wrong with a purchase — the wrong document, a failed download, a duplicated charge — contact us and it will be sorted out.

GST. Every price shown is inclusive of GST. The amount on the product page is the amount charged at checkout; nothing is added at the payment step.

Payment. Card payment is processed through Stripe. Card details are handled by Stripe and are never stored on our systems.

One specific job. Buy the single SWMS that matches the activity. Most construction activities that trigger a high-risk construction work category sit at $149. If your work spans several categories at once — say excavation alongside confined space entry — the comprehensive document at $199 will usually cover it more cleanly than two separate documents.

A trade that repeats the same work. Buy the document once. Because you receive an editable file rather than a per-use licence, the same SWMS can be adapted to each new site with the project details and site-specific controls updated. The cost does not repeat with each job.

Multi-trade contractors and principal contractors. Expect to need several documents rather than one. A civil contractor typically needs excavation, confined space, traffic management, and working-at-heights SWMS. A fit-out contractor typically needs demolition, electrical isolation, and dust control. Buy the documents that match the activities actually being performed on the project.

Not sure which document applies. Start from the activity, not the trade. The high-risk construction work categories in the WHS Regulation are defined by what the work involves — falling more than 2 metres, disturbing asbestos, entering a confined space, excavating deeper than 1.5 metres.
