Frequently Asked Questions

Q:Do you need a licence to operate a forklift?
Yes. A high-risk work licence (LF class) is required to operate a forklift in Australia. The licence is issued after completing an accredited training course and assessment.
Q:Is a SWMS required for forklift work?
A SWMS is required when forklift operation is part of HRCW on a construction site. For warehouse operations, a Safe Operating Procedure (SOP) is recommended but a SWMS is not legally required unless on a construction site.
